Receiver/Shipper

Job Title: Shipper/Receiver

Department: Warehouse

Accountability: This position reports to the Production Manager

Responsibilities:

• Receive and process inbound receipts, put away product, pull inventory, and process paperwork
• Pack and process orders for both export and domestic shipping
• Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to assure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments
• Perform computer data entry of shipping
• Investigates shipping or receiving discrepancies
• Update computer system for inventory accuracy; perform cycle counts and physical inventories
• Prioritize shipments in order to meet shipping schedules using a computerized system as instructed by shipping floor supervisor
• Load and unload trucks
• Stay current on all proper shipping methods and requirements
• Verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments
• Maintain warehouse area daily in an organized, neat and clean condition
• Maintain working stock levels of all necessary shipping and maintenance supplies
• Arrange immediate delivery of urgent material
• Determine space requirements
• Inspect material handling equipment for defects and arranges repair
• Monitor safe operation of equipment
• Assist with special projects as assigned by shipping floor supervisor

Requirements:

• Able to understand complex verbal and written directions and convey them to co-workers
• Able to perform basic mathematical computations, apply mathematical concepts to daily activities
• Able to operate a computerized shipping system
• Able to apply common sense reasoning to carry out instructions
• Able to meet shipping speed standards
• Able to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment
• No supervisory responsibility, but may aid co-workers in non-routine applications
• Interaction with management, supervision, co-workers, and incoming and outgoing delivery persons
• High school graduate, GED or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift and move up to 75 Lbs
• Able to occasionally move up to 100 Lbs
• Able to tolerate long periods of standing
• Visual requirements include close vision, depth perception and ability to focus

Salary Information: $19.00 - $24.00 / hr. depending on experience
