About the role
The Recruitment Consultant apprenticeship will appeal to individuals who possess an entrepreneurial outlook and a genuine passion for candidate talent search and engagement. In this role, every day brings new challenges and discoveries, and you'll collaborate with teams focused on talent acquisition, process improvement, and strategy development. It's a fast-paced, dynamic environment where you'll help deliver an efficient, high-quality service to both internal and external customers.
As a Recruitment Consultant apprentice, you'll learn the full craft of recruitment - how to source, screen, and interview candidates effectively, build strong relationships with both job seekers and hiring managers, and read the job market to make successful placements. You'll also develop skills that many don't associate with recruitment: sales and negotiation to match candidates to the right opportunities, the legal and ethical foundations that keep hiring fair and compliant, and the data and recruitment-software skills that keep the whole process running smoothly.
A day in the life can involve:
- Identifying and contacting potential job candidates
- Scheduling and conducting candidate interviews and assessments
- Liaising with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs
- Matching candidates to suitable job openings
- Guiding and advising candidates throughout the recruitment process
- Maintaining accurate candidate records and managing databases
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and job-market developments
- Maintaining and analysing hiring data points to spot trends
We're looking for someone with a natural curiosity about recruitment who's eager to understand the industry and play a pivotal role in talent acquisition. You'll bring meticulous attention to detail and take pride in delivering high-quality, accurate work. Because the role moves quickly, you'll need to adapt fast, prioritise effectively, and stay agile when demands shift. And you'll enjoy working as part of a team, bringing a service-oriented mindset and a commitment to giving every customer an exceptional experience.
Here at Amazon, it's in our nature to learn and be curious. Within this apprenticeship, you'll learn by doing, putting newfound knowledge into practice every day. Our first-class coaching, tailored development opportunities, and rewarding work will empower you to reach new heights. If you're a curious learner eager to grow, this is your chance to unlock your full potential and build the future you envision.
You'll gain a wide range of valuable experiences and skills while working towards the Level 3 Recruitment Consultant apprenticeship standard. You'll combine working in your assigned team with your studies: as a working student, your focus during your 20% off-the-job time is to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours that lead to successful graduation. You'll be set objectives and goals by your training provider and manager to support your studies.
You'll build your skills over an 18-month period, starting in September, developing both personally and professionally. Your apprenticeship combines classroom and virtual training to cover the knowledge, on-the-job training at your Amazon base location, online learning, and mentoring from our experienced team members.
We value different perspectives and experiences, and we're dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. Our employee-led affinity groups — including communities for women in tech, LGBTQ+ employees, and underrepresented minorities — foster a culture of inclusion that empowers us to be proud of our differences. These groups provide community, mentorship, and a platform for your voice to be heard. We're committed to building a workforce that reflects the customers and communities we serve.
We're continuously raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth's Best Employer. That's why you'll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.
Your career isn't a straight path - it's a journey you build as you go. A universe of opportunity awaits, and your next adventure starts here.
