About the role
McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for a full-time RN - Infusion Nurse Float in Ames. We are seeking a compassionate, service-oriented professional who thrives in a team environment and is dedicated to providing extraordinary care every day to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Complete patient pre-registration and rooming processes.
- Prepare patients for provider examinations and procedures.
- Obtain and accurately document medical histories and current medications.
- Assist oncologists with oncologic procedures.
- Administer IM and SQ injections and immunizations.
- Prepare and administer chemotherapy, biologic medications, and other infusion therapies.
- Provide telephone triage and patient education related to treatments and disease management.
- Assist physicians with clinical and clerical duties associated with patient care.
- Travel with oncologists to outreach clinic locations as needed.

Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Certification/Licensure
- Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Providers.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred.
Schedule
- Full-time: Four 10-hour shifts per week.
- Rotating Saturday schedule.
- Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Qualifications
- Previous McFarland Clinic experience preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Oncology and/or Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred.
Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks are a condition of hire.
