About the role
The Refugee Youth Mentoring Program (RYMP) supports refugee youth 15-23 years old living in Maryland to set and achieve goals in three core areas of focus: academic achievement, career advancement/vocational training, and social inclusion/civic engagement. Staff specialists provide individualized case management support to mentees and work with mentors to build positive and impactful mentor-mentee relationships. Volunteer mentors play a key role in RYMP, spending approximately 3-5 hours per month on mentorship between meeting with their mentee, supporting their mentee to connect with resources or opportunities related to their goals, and sometimes conducting light research related to helping their mentee advance their goals. The mentor role can be virtual or hybrid.
Please reach out to greenwoodt@lssnca.org if you have questions or would like more information before submitting a mentor application.
