SAP S/4HANA Business Process Owner (SD / Order-to-Cash)

About the Role

Our client is a global industrial leader operating in over 100 countries, known for its advanced manufacturing footprint and commitment to driving digital innovation across its factories and supply chain. They are currently undergoing one of the most significant ERP and operational technology transformations in their industry to modernize systems, improve efficiency, and enable next-generation operations.

We are looking for an experienced Business Process Owner with strong SAP SD / Order-to-Cash expertise to act as the bridge between Business teams and SAP / Digital delivery teams. The role focuses on process readiness, Fit-to-Template workshops, gap analysis, requirements clarification, deployment, UAT, cutover, and post-Go-Live support across sales, order management, delivery, billing, and customer-facing processes.

CONTRACT: Freelance / contractor assignment

COMMITMENT: 3 months, renewable

LOCATIONS: Hybrid in Budapest or Grenoble — 2 days/week onsite, 3 days/week remote

NOTES: Travel to other European client sites is expected around 1 week per month, with expenses reimbursed.

Responsibilities

• Lead business readiness for SAP S/4HANA SD / Order-to-Cash deployment.
• Align local teams with the program’s Core Model / Global Template.
• Prepare and facilitate Fit-to-Template / Fit-to-Standard workshops.
• Perform business-process analysis, process mapping, and gap analysis across sales and distribution workflows.
• Gather and clarify business requirements and translate them into actionable inputs for SAP / Digital teams.
• Coordinate closely with local stakeholders, site management, and SAP delivery teams.
• Support testing, UAT, cutover, Go-Live, and hypercare activities.
• Contribute to change management, user adoption, and training.
• Identify deployment risks and process-readiness gaps.
• Capture and share best practices across rollout locations.

Requirements

• Strong functional expertise in SAP SD and end-to-end Order-to-Cash processes.
• Solid hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience working on international SAP transformation or rollout programs.
• Strong understanding of sales, order management, pricing, delivery, billing, and customer processes.
• Experience with Core Model / Global Template deployments.
• Hands-on experience with Fit-to-Template, gap analysis, process mapping, and requirements gathering.
• Experience supporting UAT, deployment, cutover, Go-Live, and hypercare.
• Fluent English and strong ability to work between Business and IT / Digital teams.
