Senior Accountant I

First Community is currently searching for a Sr. Accountant I to execute accounting for assigned complex and non-routine transaction areas, ensuring transactions are recorded, reconciled, and supported timely and accurately, and that issues are raised timely. Works directly with the VP Accounting to prepare NCUA Call Report (Form 5300) schedules and participates in month-end close.

Actively researches and manages reconciliation outages, to maintain compliance with department policy.

Reviews monthly accruals for accuracy.

Other duties can include preparing journal entries, preparing financial statements and reports for internal use, researching and managing reconciliation outages, assisting in monitoring budgets and identifying potential variances and participating in month-end close.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics or finance preferred, or equivalent work experience

Experience

• One to three years of accounting experience in public accounting, industry, or a financial institution.

• Experience preparing the NCUA Call Report (5300) and/or with fixed asset accounting is preferred.
