About the role
Join a team at the center of one of the most iconic brands in financial services - the Chase Branded Cards including Sapphire franchise and other premium card products. Here, your analytical curiosity will directly shape how JPMorgan Chase acquires and grows its affluent customer base. You'll turn complex data into strategies that influence products used by millions of customers, working alongside Product, Marketing, Finance, and Risk leaders. This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of risk and growth, helping define the next chapter of premium card innovation. If you thrive on solving ambiguous, high-impact business problems with data, this role is built for you.
As a Senior Associate in Card Acquisition Risk Analytics within Chase Card Services Risk, you generate data-driven analytics and recommendations that shape strategy, product development, and performance monitoring for the Chase-branded card portfolio, with particular focus on the Sapphire franchise and new product launches targeting affluent customers. You will shape credit card acquisition strategies for the affluent segment through advanced analytics, customer insights, experimentation, and data-driven decision making.
This role is well suited to candidates from quantitative and analytics disciplines beyond traditional risk management including consulting, business analytics, data science, finance, or marketing analytics. Experience in credit risk or affluent/premium card portfolios is preferred but not required; what matters most is strong analytical rigor, curiosity, and the ability to turn complex data into clear business recommendations about high-value customer segments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain periodic analytics that give management full visibility into emerging trends and the quality of originated accounts across the Sapphire portfolio and other Chase-branded card products
- Build a detailed understanding of key performance metrics and profitability drivers, delivering insights that span the full account lifecycle from acquisition through ongoing portfolio performance
- Develop working knowledge of the operational processes underlying card acquisition to better interpret performance drivers and inform strategy recommendations
- Conduct complex analyses and present results to partners and senior management in direct support of card acquisition strategies and new product and feature launches, with emphasis on the Sapphire portfolio
- Support the formulation of strategy and product roadmap for Sapphire and other card initiatives
- Partner with and influence cross-functional teams across Product, Marketing, Finance, and Risk
- Manage strategies that drive financial performance and risk mitigation improvements
- Bring a growth mindset and innovative thinking to optimize performance as new products scale
- Partner closely with Risk Governance, Legal, and Compliance to ensure strategies and policies align with applicable laws and regulations
- Conduct ad hoc analytics and contribute to cross-functional projects representing the Chase Card analytics function
- Translate complex, large-scale datasets into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Finance) from an accredited college/university
- Minimum of 2 years of quantitative or analytics experience in business analytics, data science, finance, marketing analytics, consulting, or Risk Management
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel, PowerPoint, or Python
- Demonstrated ability to query large datasets and transform raw data into actionable management insight
- Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to logically structure complex analyses
- Experience delivering clear, actionable recommendations to senior management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under deadlines
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and comfort working with ambiguity
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships across cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data-driven deliverables
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Master's degree in a quantitative discipline
- Experience in credit risk management or analytics
- Familiarity with credit card acquisition, underwriting, or customer lifecycle analytics
- Experience with statistical modeling, segmentation, or experimentation (A/B testing) methodologies
