Position Overview
18 month contract
As a Senior Azure Migration expert, you are responsible for analyzing, planning, designing, documenting, building, deploying and testing as part of an initiative to convert on-prem enterprise Microsoft technology applications to be cloud native solutions on Azure Public Cloud using available Azure cloud infrastructure and services or to newer SQL Virtual Machines.
You will apply your technical expertise in the designing of systems to support customer needs and you will contribute to the customer’s body of knowledge.

The Senior Azure Migration Engineer is primarily responsible for:
- Understanding and analyzing the current on-premise database server configuration.
Create and seek approval to execute a plan per designated database server for final conversion/migration to Azure.
Collaborate with the project team to support operational transition and provide detail on appropriate resources required to maintain and enhance the environment for optimal performance.
Manage and track SQL Licensing as needed.
Document in detail the approach and the actual migration path taken towards the successful completion of the migration.
Work independently and be accountable for the successful completion of migration/conversion project work.
Pro-active and available for scheduled activities offshore as well as onsite when/if needed.

We are seeking candidates with the following experience and skills
- Experience converting traditional ASP.NET MVC web applications to Azure ApplicationServices
- Running ISAPI extension on Azure Application Services
- Implementation of Azure Site Recovery and Disaster recovery for migrated application
- Migrating of AWS SMB file storage and static files to Azure Storage
- Migrating Web Services & API to Azure functions
- Implementing Azure Active Directory (AD) for authentication
- Migrating SQL Database (2008) objects to SQL Server Management Instance
- Experience with Azure Certificate Management
- Experience in setting up CI/CD to Azure App Services
- Hands on experience in the following technology:
- SQL Server database through 2014 and above
- Scripting competency
Qualifications:
- A BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in software development and/or IT implementation/ consulting experience.
- At least 5+ years of experience in SQL
- At least 5+ years of experience working with Azure infrastructure and services
- Certified Azure Solutions Architect is highly desired.
- Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions (Exam 70-535)
- Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions (Exam 70-475)
- Developing Microsoft Azure Solutions (Exam 70-533)
