Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced, solutions-oriented Senior Data & Analytics Solutions Architect with a strong specialization in Power BI, data integration, API development, and business intelligence. This individual will partner directly with customers, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable data solutions that support informed decision-making.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with exceptional communication and customer engagement skills. They can engage confidently with executive stakeholders, identify the questions customers need answered, and design intuitive dashboards, reports, and analytics products that turn complex data into clear, meaningful business insights.
This is a highly project-focused role requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems in real time, and deliver high-quality solutions within accelerated timelines. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in ambiguous environments, adapting solutions as requirements evolve, and balancing speed of delivery with data accuracy, reliability, and usability.

- This position requires working onsite in Washington D.C., 5 days per week
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in data science, business intelligence, analytics, data solutions, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Power Apps - Business application development: Build customized interfaces for data entry, operational processes, approvals, and business applications.
- Power Automate - Workflow and process automation: Automate repetitive activities, notifications, approvals, data movement, and integrations.
- Strong practical experience with Power Query, DAX, data modeling, and data visualization.
- Proven experience integrating data through APIs, particularly REST APIs and JSON-based data exchange.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and multiple data sources.
- Demonstrated success delivering customer-facing analytics projects from requirements discovery through implementation.
- Experience managing multiple projects, competing priorities, and accelerated delivery timelines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with executive-level stakeholders.
- Proven ability to translate complex business needs into practical, scalable, and user-friendly technical solutions.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience working independently and exercising sound judgment in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.
- Demonstrated commitment to data accuracy, quality assurance, security, and professional standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, Azure SQL, or related cloud-based data platforms.
- Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis, automation, or advanced analytics.
- Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and workflow automation.
- Knowledge of Power BI Service, deployment pipelines, row-level security, and workspace governance.
- Experience with Agile or other project delivery methodologies.
- Experience working directly with external customers, senior business leaders, or enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Requirements Discovery:
- Engage directly with customers, business stakeholders, and executive leadership to understand business objectives, operational challenges, and reporting requirements.
- Translate business questions and customer needs into actionable analytics requirements and technical solutions.
- Lead discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and requirements-gathering workshops to identify key performance indicators (KPIs), success measures, and decision-making needs.
- Challenge assumptions and proactively recommend solutions that improve visibility, efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Communicate technical concepts, analytical findings, and recommendations clearly and confidently to audiences ranging from technical teams to executive leadership.
- Build trusted customer relationships through responsiveness, professionalism, sound judgment, and consistent delivery.
Power BI Dashboard & Reporting Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and business intelligence products.
- Transform complex datasets into intuitive, visually compelling, and actionable reporting experiences.
- Develop data models, measures, calculations, and business logic using Power Query, DAX, and related tools.
- Ensure dashboards align with customer objectives, provide meaningful insights, and enable timely, data-driven decisions.
- Apply best practices in dashboard design, data visualization, usability, performance optimization, and accessibility.
- Establish appropriate data validation, quality controls, and reporting standards to ensure accuracy and trust in delivered products.
- Iterate rapidly on dashboards and reports based on customer feedback, changing requirements, and evolving business priorities.
API Integration & Data Engineering:
- Design, develop, and support API integrations that connect disparate systems, applications, and data sources.
- Work with REST APIs, JSON, authentication methods, and data transformation processes to enable reliable data access and integration.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues, data discrepancies, refresh failures, and integration challenges.
- Develop repeatable, scalable approaches to data ingestion, transformation, and reporting.
- Collaborate with engineering, IT, data platform, and application teams to ensure secure, reliable, and maintainable data solutions.
- Understand and apply appropriate security, access control, data governance, and data privacy practices.
Rapid Solution Development & Project Delivery:
- Lead analytics projects from initial customer engagement and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and handover.
- Deliver fit-for-purpose dashboards, reports, and data products within short turnaround times without compromising essential quality standards.
- Assess business needs quickly, determine the most effective technical approach, and make informed decisions when requirements are incomplete or evolving.
- Develop prototypes and minimum viable products (MVPs) to validate concepts, demonstrate value, and accelerate customer feedback.
- Manage project scope, milestones, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
- Balance immediate customer needs with long-term maintainability, scalability, and technical sustainability.
- Identify opportunities to streamline delivery, reuse existing components, and improve the efficiency of analytics development.
- Proactively communicate progress, constraints, trade-offs, and delivery risks to stakeholders.
Data Analysis & Decision Support:
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, performance gaps, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Translate analytical findings into clear business insights, recommendations, and actionable next steps.
- Partner with stakeholders to define relevant KPIs, performance measures, and reporting frameworks.
- Ensure reports tell a clear story, answer the right business questions, and support decisions rather than simply display data.
- Validate assumptions, investigate anomalies, and ensure conclusions are supported by reliable data.
- Recommend improvements to reporting processes, data accessibility, and business intelligence capabilities.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Executive Communication:
- Present dashboards, analytical findings, project outcomes, and recommendations to senior leaders and executive audiences.
- Develop concise, professional presentations and executive-level reporting materials.
- Facilitate productive conversations between customers, business teams, technical specialists, and leadership.
- Navigate competing priorities and differing perspectives while maintaining constructive, professional working relationships.
- Manage expectations transparently and communicate complex issues in a clear, solution-oriented manner.
