Lead the transformation of a finance organization into an AI-native, technology-enabled function that delivers greater efficiency, stronger controls, and more actionable business insights. In this senior leadership role, you will define the multi-year transformation roadmap and oversee a team of approximately 20 professionals across analytics engineering, machine learning engineering, program management, and finance systems support. You will modernize financial processes, scale automation, and integrate advanced analytics into enterprise decision-making. Working closely with Finance, Engineering, Operations, Internal Audit, and other business leaders, you will drive complex initiatives from strategic vision through execution. You will also shape how finance teams work in the future by combining human expertise with intelligent automation while maintaining rigorous governance and auditability. This is a hands-on executive opportunity to influence enterprise-wide change in a fast-paced technology environment.
Accountabilities:
-
Define the finance transformation strategy: Develop, maintain, and execute a multi-year roadmap that leverages technology, process redesign, automation, advanced analytics, and improved governance to transform how Finance operates.
-
Establish measurable outcomes: Define and monitor key performance indicators for transformation initiatives, including productivity, financial close speed, forecast accuracy, and the quality of business insights.
-
Build an AI-native finance function: Identify, prioritize, and scale high-value AI and automation use cases across Finance. Redesign end-to-end workflows rather than simply automating existing processes, and establish clear boundaries between human responsibilities, AI-driven activities, and automated execution.
-
Strengthen AI governance and accountability: Ensure AI-enabled financial processes operate with appropriate oversight, controls, transparency, and human accountability.
-
Modernize financial operations: Simplify and automate high-volume transactional workflows across Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Quote-to-Cash (Q2C), Record-to-Report (R2R), Treasury, Tax, and Internal Audit while maintaining strong financial controls.
-
Advance predictive analytics and decision support: Develop scalable analytical products and self-service tools that help business leaders understand performance drivers, evaluate tradeoffs, anticipate outcomes, and make better-informed decisions.
-
Lead cross-functional transformation delivery: Set priorities, governance structures, and accountability for major initiatives. Align Finance, Engineering, FinTech, Operations, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders, coordinating internal project teams, external consultants, and technology vendors.
-
Develop the future finance workforce: Anticipate how AI and automation will reshape finance roles, identify emerging capability requirements, and partner with Finance leadership to develop talent strategies, career pathways, and skills for a technology-enabled organization.
-
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team: Guide a team of approximately 20 professionals across analytics engineering, machine learning engineering, program management, and finance systems support, fostering collaboration and high performance.
-
Partner with enterprise systems owners: Work closely with teams responsible for core business systems to ensure finance transformation initiatives integrate effectively with the broader technology environment.
-
Maintain compliance and auditability: Ensure transformation initiatives preserve strong SOX compliance, internal controls, governance, and audit readiness as financial systems and workflows evolve.
-
Finance transformation leadership: Proven experience leading finance transformation in a scaled technology company, including ERP or financial systems changes, process redesign, automation, and data modernization.
-
AI and automation implementation: Hands-on experience building and deploying AI-powered and automated solutions within Finance, with the ability to demonstrate measurable business results.
-
Technology and data fluency: Practical understanding of AI, automation, analytics, and data architecture, including the judgment to identify valuable use cases and implement them responsibly.
-
Technical depth: Ability to engage meaningfully with machine learning engineers and analytics engineers on solution design, technical implementation, and the capabilities being developed.
-
Financial governance expertise: Strong working knowledge of SOX requirements, internal controls, and public-company financial reporting processes. Previous experience at a publicly traded company is not mandatory.
-
Cross-functional leadership: Demonstrated ability to build alignment and drive execution across Finance, Engineering, Data, Operations, and other functions without relying solely on direct authority.
-
Strategic and analytical capabilities: Strong analytical thinking and the ability to connect financial insights with business strategy, enterprise priorities, and measurable outcomes.
-
Executive communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, explain complex concepts, and present transformation plans and results clearly.
-
Change management: Experience leading organizational change, challenging established practices, and helping teams adopt new technologies, processes, and operating models.
-
Hands-on leadership: Comfort moving between strategic planning and detailed execution, personally examining processes, data, and technology to identify opportunities for improvement.
-
Enterprise mindset: Ability to prioritize company-wide outcomes over traditional functional boundaries and collaborate effectively across a complex stakeholder network.
-
Education: Bachelor's degree required. An MBA and/or CPA qualification is preferred.
-
Leadership approach: Intellectual curiosity, a data-driven mindset, adaptability, and a willingness to challenge assumptions while continuously improving how Finance operates.
-
Annual cash compensation: $245,200–$392,300 USD. The published range includes base salary and, where applicable, on-target commission and annual bonus targets. Actual compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
-
Potential equity compensation: Eligibility to participate in an equity plan and receive restricted stock units (RSUs) for roles that qualify.
-
Remote flexibility: Remote position within the United States, with an emphasis on building strong connections through team collaboration and in-person gatherings.
-
Professional development: Opportunity to lead enterprise-wide transformation, develop multidisciplinary teams, and expand expertise in AI, automation, analytics, and finance technology.
