About the role
ZEISS’ history in Greater China dates to 1957. ZEISS is represented across Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Quality & Research, Medical Technology and Consumer Markets. We are looking for a talented professional to join MED Innovation Hub China and help develop robust, reliable solutions for advanced medical technology.
Your Role
You will contribute to both electronic hardware and firmware or embedded-software development for medical-device components and systems. From early concepts and rapid prototypes through verification, design transfer and sustaining, you will help create robust, manufacturable and reliable solutions.
- Derive component requirements from system requirements and define hardware, firmware and interface specifications.
- Develop electronic hardware, embedded software and, where relevant, FPGA-based solutions.
- Create prototypes, evaluate technical feasibility and mature concepts into production-ready designs.
- Produce design outputs and documentation, including design notes, interface documents, drawings and verification records.
- Execute component verification and contribute to system-level EMC, safety and performance testing.
- Partner with sourcing, manufacturing and Operations teams on prototyping, design transfer, production testing and sustaining.
Your Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering or a closely related technical discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- For Senior level, at least 6 years of hands-on experience in electronic circuit design, embedded systems or medical-device electronics.
- Practical experience across hardware and embedded-software development, debugging and verification.
- Ability to translate system requirements into clear component specifications and engineering deliverables.
- Structured problem-solving, sound engineering judgement and effective cross-functional communication.
It would be desirable if you had
- Experience with medical devices, surgical microscopes, ophthalmic diagnostic devices, research microscopes or camera and video-chain solutions.
- Knowledge of IEC 62304, cybersecurity, EMC or electrical-safety documentation.
- Experience with FPGA design, manufacturing test concepts or technology-readiness assessment.
Your Benefits
- Work in a collaborative, international environment with experts across engineering disciplines.
- Take on varied technical responsibilities and contribute across the product lifecycle.
- Access learning and development opportunities supported by experienced colleagues.
- Use modern engineering tools and equipment to turn ideas into reliable products.
