Position Summary

The Senior IT Engineer is a senior technical member of the global Information Technology team responsible for the administration, support, security, and continuous improvement of the company’s corporate technology environment.

This is primarily a hands-on technical position, with approximately 10–15% of the role dedicated to team coordination, operational leadership, and management responsibilities. The Senior IT Engineer serves as the designated second-in-command to the Global IT Manager and assumes responsibility for day-to-day IT operations when the Global IT Manager is unavailable.

In addition to technical responsibilities, this position owns selected vendor relationships and contracts, coordinates defined IT initiatives, mentors other IT team members, and assists the Global IT Manager with maintaining consistent technology standards and operating practices across the company’s global locations.

Role Expectations

The Senior IT Engineer is expected to spend the majority of their time performing technical and operational work. Approximately 10–15% of the position will involve delegated leadership responsibilities, including coordinating team activities, managing selected vendors and initiatives, mentoring other IT personnel, and acting on behalf of the Global IT Manager when required.

This position does not replace the Global IT Manager’s responsibility for overall IT strategy, personnel management, budgeting, and organizational leadership. Rather, it provides operational depth, technical leadership, and management continuity within the global IT organization.

Key Success Measures

Success in this position will be measured by the reliability and security of assigned systems, effective resolution of complex technical issues, quality and consistency of IT operations, successful management of assigned vendors, adherence to corporate technology standards, contribution to integration initiatives, development of other IT team members, and the ability to maintain effective IT operations when acting on behalf of the Global IT Manager.
