About the role
Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace, bringing together the world’s leading risk takers to advance global progress.
Our strategy is focused on delivering strong underwriting performance, operating an efficient and flexible marketplace, and maximising the capital advantage of the Lloyd’s market — while continuing to build a Lloyd’s we are proud of.
How we deliver this, matters. We take the risk, make things happen, and own the outcome — working together across our global network to turn insight into impact.
Our Middle East business is growing. Based in the Dubai International Financial Centre, you’ll help us build on that momentum by developing our market, strengthening key relationships and turning insight into commercial opportunity.
As Senior Market Development Manager, Middle East & Turkey, you’ll work closely with the Head of Middle East, Turkey & Africa and colleagues across our global network.
You’ll have the opportunity to influence how Lloyd’s develops across some of the world’s most dynamic insurance markets.
What you’ll be doing
This is a commercially focused role where relationships, market insight and delivery all matter.
You’ll:
- Help deliver our regional plan and contribute to wider APMEA strategic priorities.
- Identify opportunities to increase Lloyd’s reach and visibility across the Middle East and Turkey.
- Build trusted relationships with brokers, coverholders, service companies, market associations and other industry stakeholders.
- Connect market participants with Lloyd’s initiatives, including Lloyd’s Lab, the Lloyd’s Broker Academy and opportunities for new market entrants.
- Work with senior colleagues to develop KPIs, analyse market activity and turn data into useful commercial insight.
- Build understanding of Lloyd’s through regular engagement with retail and wholesale brokers.
- Bring regional market intelligence back into Lloyd’s, helping colleagues understand emerging opportunities, challenges and trends.
- Develop campaigns, events, conferences and thought leadership with colleagues across the region and in London.
- Support market education, including Lloyd’s bootcamps in Saudi Arabia and the DIFC.
- Represent Lloyd’s externally and take an active role in relevant industry forums.
You won’t have direct reports, but you’ll have significant opportunity to influence. Your relationships will span the insurance market, our regional network and colleagues across Lloyd’s.
What you’ll bring
We’re interested in what you can do and the impact you’ve made.
You’ll bring:
- Significant Underwriting, broking or a related insurance market experience.
- Strong commercial understanding and the ability to identify where market opportunities can create value.
- Knowledge of the Middle East and Turkey insurance markets, or evidence that you’ve successfully adapted to different markets and cultures.
- Advanced relationship-building, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing several priorities and deadlines at the same time.
- The ability to analyse information, solve problems and translate insight into action.
- Clear and confident written and verbal English.
- Knowledge of the DIFC reinsurance market will be valuable.
- Understanding of the Lloyd’s market, Arabic language skills and a CII or equivalent professional qualification would be advantageous, but they’re not essential.
How you’ll make an impact
At Lloyd’s, how we deliver matters.
Take the risk.
You’ll challenge traditional thinking, spot opportunity and make considered commercial decisions.
Make it happen.
You’ll turn market insight and relationships into action, finding practical ways through barriers and maintaining momentum.
Own the outcome.
You’ll take responsibility for delivery, measure impact and see decisions through.
You’ll also work with openness and integrity, building trusted relationships across cultures, organisations and markets.
Why Lloyd’s?
Our strategy is focused on delivering strong underwriting performance, operating an efficient and flexible marketplace, and maximising the capital advantage of the Lloyd’s market, while continuing to build a Lloyd’s we’re proud of.
In this role, you’ll be close to where that strategy becomes action. You’ll help shape relationships, create opportunities and strengthen understanding of Lloyd’s across the Middle East and Turkey, while connecting the region with one of the world’s most important insurance marketplaces.
Being inclusive at Lloyd’s is integral to how we work — and how we deliver impact.
We aim to build a diverse, inclusive environment that reflects the global markets we serve, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and supported to reach their full potential.
We take the risk by challenging traditional thinking and being proactive about inclusion. That means being open and positive about workplace adjustments, prioritising health and wellbeing, and investing in diversity and inclusion training so everyone feels able to contribute and succeed.
We make things happen by turning our commitment into action. Through employee networks, mentoring, volunteering opportunities and sustained investment in professional development, we create an environment where inclusion is experienced day‑to‑day — not just talked about.
We own the outcome by focusing on impact. By bringing together diverse perspectives and the best minds in the industry, we work collaboratively with underwriters and brokers to create innovative, responsive solutions that share risk and solve complex problems across global markets.
