About the role
Senior Marketing & Communications Specialist
Location: Philadelphia, PA; Mount Laurel, NJ; or Bedminster, NJ
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Weber Gallagher, a growing law firm with more than 160 legal professionals across 13 offices, is seeking an experienced, creative and highly motivated Senior Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our Marketing and Business Development team.
Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer, this is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to help shape and execute the firm's marketing, communications and brand strategy. The Senior Marketing & Communications Specialist will work closely with firm leadership, attorneys, practice groups and business professionals across offices to strengthen Weber Gallagher's market presence, showcase the firm's capabilities and talent, and support continued growth.
We are looking for a strong writer, creative thinker and proactive problem-solver who is equally comfortable developing strategy and rolling up their sleeves to execute it. The ideal candidate brings intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, strong attention to detail and a keen eye for compelling content and design.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious marketing professional who wants meaningful responsibility, direct exposure to firm leadership and the ability to make a visible impact. The role offers significant potential for growth for someone who brings ideas, takes ownership and continually looks for ways to elevate the firm's marketing efforts. This role will have access to a shared marketing assistant who can help with projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute integrated marketing and communications initiatives aligned with the firm's strategic, brand and business development objectives.
- Help shape and manage the firm's digital marketing strategy, including website content, digital campaigns, social media, paid media and emerging marketing channels.
- Develop compelling content that strengthens the Weber Gallagher brand and showcases the firm's attorneys, practices, successes, capabilities and industry knowledge.
- Manage the firm's website and its content, keeping it accurate, current and consistent with the Weber Gallagher brand.
- Help develop and maintain a firm-wide content calendar across web, social media, email and thought-leadership channels.
- Plan and host webinars that showcase the firm's practice groups, working with attorneys on topics, speakers and promotion.
- Create, edit and coordinate sophisticated marketing materials, including attorney biographies, practice and industry descriptions, presentations, brochures, client-facing collateral and other brand materials.
- Draft and edit press releases, internal communications, website content, social media posts, announcements and other firm communications, ensuring messages are polished, concise and consistent with the firm's voice and brand.
- Identify and develop opportunities to increase attorney and firm visibility through thought leadership, speaking engagements, authorship opportunities, media exposure, awards, rankings and professional recognition.
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant media contacts and identify opportunities to position the firm's attorneys as knowledgeable resources on legal and industry developments.
- Support the development, planning, promotion and execution of client-facing programs, conferences, sponsorships and firm events.
- Develop and manage the strategy, budget, execution and performance of Google Ads and other digital marketing campaigns supporting the firm's consumer-facing practices.
- Monitor and evaluate SEO, website performance, social engagement, paid media and other digital analytics and use insights to recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the Marketing and Business Development team on firmwide priorities, strategic initiatives and special projects.
- Help identify and evaluate new marketing technologies, tools and approaches, including opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, business or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience will also be considered.
- Four or more years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, business development or a related field.
- Experience in a law firm or other professional services environment is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate complex subjects into clear, sophisticated and engaging communications for different audiences.
- Demonstrated experience developing professional marketing materials, digital content, presentations, award submissions or comparable collateral.
- Strong digital marketing capabilities, including experience with social media, websites, content marketing and digital campaigns.
- Experience with Google Ads, SEO, web analytics, email marketing or other digital marketing platforms is highly desirable.
- Experience with CRM, content-management, email-marketing or marketing automation platforms is a plus.
- A strong visual sensibility and understanding of effective design, layout and brand presentation. Hands-on graphic design experience is a plus.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to develop polished, professional presentations and marketing materials.
- Excellent project-management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence and professionalism to work effectively with attorneys, senior leadership, business professionals, clients, vendors and outside partners.
- A high degree of initiative and accountability, with the ability to work independently, anticipate needs and move projects forward without requiring significant oversight.
