Our purpose is simple - to deliver a sustainable future for the world through science and collaboration. If you’re looking for a challenge and meaningful role, you’re in the right place.
Dow has an opportunity for a Senior Logistics Specialist located in Mexico City - Mexico.
We are seeking a results-oriented professional to lead transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations across Mexico. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective logistics execution while delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers. The successful candidate will oversee carrier performance, drive operational excellence through KPI management, lead cross-functional collaboration, and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, reduce costs, and support business growth. The ideal candidate combines strong logistics expertise, analytical problem-solving capabilities, and proven leadership skills to manage complex supply chain operations in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily transportation operations to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery of products across Mexico.
- Oversee warehouse and distribution activities, ensuring efficient inventory flow and operational continuity.
- Lead relationships with carriers, logistics providers, and warehousing partners, driving performance, safety, and service improvements.
- Monitor and analyze logistics KPIs such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), On-Time Pickup (OTP), freight costs, and service reliability.
- Resolve transportation disruptions, customer escalations, and supply chain issues through timely decision-making and contingency planning.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety requirements, documentation standards, and company policies
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that optimize logistics costs, transportation efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, or supply chain operations.
- Experience with SAP, TMS, WMS, Power BI, or transportation visibility tools.
- Knowledge of Mexican and cross border transportation regulations and customs processes.
- Advanced English and Spanish communication skills.
Your Skills:
- Logistics & Supply Chain Expertise: The Senior Logistics Specialist must demonstrate a strong understanding of transportation, warehousing, distribution, inventory management, and carrier operations. The individual should be capable of managing end-to-end logistics execution, balancing service, cost, and operational efficiency while ensuring continuity of supply to customers.
- Data Analysis & KPI Management: The Logistics Manager is expected to use data to drive decision-making rather than relying solely on operational experience. This includes monitoring key performance indicators such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), On-Time Pickup (OTP), freight costs, carrier performance, claims, and inventory accuracy. The successful candidate should be able to identify trends, conduct root-cause analysis, develop corrective action plans, and communicate performance insights to leadership and stakeholders.
- Problem Solving & Decision Making: Logistics operations frequently encounter disruptions such as transportation delays, capacity shortages, inventory issues, and customer escalations. The Logistics Manager must demonstrate strong decision-making skills under pressure, quickly evaluate alternatives, assess business impacts, and implement effective solutions. The expectation is to minimize service interruptions while protecting safety, compliance, and customer commitments.
- Stakeholder & Customer Relationship Management: The Logistics Manager must build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, commercial teams, production, procurement, warehouses, and transportation providers. The role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and influence skills. The expectation is to align multiple stakeholders around common objectives, effectively manage escalations, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction while ensuring operational excellence.
