About the Position:
The Sr. Staff UX Designer is a senior individual contributor at the forefront of how Arctic Wolf thinks about, practices, and delivers UX. This role sits at the center of two of the most consequential bets the design organization is making: the AI-first transformation of UX craft and operations, and the cross-discipline ownership of a new experience design system that sets the standard for every product experience we ship.
You bring a rare combination of deep design expertise, strategic thinking, and cross-functional influence. You work with meaningful autonomy—collaborating closely with designers and design directors on what excellent design looks like for the organization, leading the practice forward through your work, and raising the bar for the designers around you through mentorship, feedback, and example. You are equally comfortable shaping the details of an interaction and articulating design direction to senior stakeholders.
You treat AI not as a convenience, but as a fundamental shift in how design work gets done. You are actively exploring and championing AI-enabled workflows—from research synthesis to rapid prototyping to design operations—and helping the broader team make that transition with confidence and craft intact.
Responsibilities Include:
AI Transformation of UX Craft & Operations
- Champion the AI-first transformation of how UX design and research work gets done at Arctic Wolf—defining what that looks like in practice, not just in principle
- Identify, pilot, and scale AI-enabled workflows across the design team: research synthesis, generative ideation, rapid prototyping, content creation, and design operations
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude-based environments, generative design tools, e.g. Figma Make) to meaningfully accelerate your own output and serve as a model for the team
- Establish frameworks for evaluating the quality of AI-generated design outputs and embedding human judgment at the right points in the workflow
- Partner with UX leadership to evolve team rituals, tooling, and operating practices around AI capability
Design System Ownership & In-Product Guidance
- Lead the cross-discipline ownership and delivery of Arctic Wolf's new design system—from foundational tokens and component architecture to governance, documentation, and adoption
- Drive alignment across Product, Engineering, UX, and Content to ensure the design system reflects shared standards and is built for scale and longevity
- Lead the strategy and execution for in-product guidance experiences, including the design, implementation, and iteration of guidance patterns using Pendo capabilities
- Direct how Pendo-powered flows, tooltips, and walkthroughs integrate with the broader design system and product experience—maintaining coherence and quality across touchpoints
- Establish contribution models and governance practices so the design system evolves with the product, not behind it
- Advocate for and measure adoption of design system components across product teams
Design Leadership & Craft
- Ability to lead UX architecture and design on complex, high-impact product challenges—from discovery through delivery—across Arctic Wolf's security operations platform
- Ability to drive UX strategy for selected, high-impact product areas, influencing roadmap decisions through clear problem framing and design-led thinking
- Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, and UX Research to deliver high-quality, customer-centered experiences
- Lead and facilitate collaborative design workshops, research sessions, and design reviews with cross-functional teams
- Mentor and provide structured feedback to Staff and Senior UX Designers, helping to grow craft across the team
- Communicate and present design strategy, rationale, and outcomes confidently to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
- Define success metrics for design initiatives and measure impact on usability, adoption, and customer outcomes
What Success Looks Like
- The design team has meaningfully adopted AI-enabled workflows, moving faster and producing better work—and you led that shift
- A new design system is in production, well-documented, actively maintained, and trusted by teams across Product and Engineering
- In-product guidance experiences built on Pendo are coherent, on-brand, and measurably improving user onboarding and feature adoption
- Design solutions demonstrably improve customer outcomes and drive product adoption
- Deep, trusted partnerships with Product, Engineering, and Content counterparts across multiple teams
- Other designers grow meaningfully through your mentorship, feedback, and example
- UX is consistently represented and influential in planning, prioritization, and strategy conversations
About You:
Qualifications
- 15+ years of UX design experience, with demonstrated progression to a senior or staff-level scope
- Proven track record of leading design on complex, multi-persona enterprise IT SaaS platforms; cybersecurity or enterprise security experience is a plus
- Demonstrated experience owning or significantly contributing to a design system—including component architecture, documentation, and cross-team adoption
- Experience influencing product strategy and roadmap priorities through design-led thinking and evidence
- Comfortable operating in a globally distributed, fast-paced, agile environment with a bias for action
Skills & Expertise
- Deep mastery of user-centered design, interaction design, and information architecture
- Expert command of Figma and the ability to produce high-quality deliverables at every fidelity level
- Demonstrated experience integrating AI tools into UX workflows—not just for efficiency, but as a genuine shift in how design work is done
- Experience with Pendo or comparable in-product guidance platforms (tooltips, walkthroughs, NPS, flows), and the ability to design within their constraints and capabilities
- Fluency in best practices for accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design
- Working knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design) sufficient to collaborate effectively with engineering
- Deep familiarity with enterprise product and development tooling, such as Aha!, Jira, and Github, and ability to use them effectively with UX operations and strategy
- Outstanding communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills; able to influence without authority across disciplines and organizational levels
- Familiar with analytics and data practices that help measure the effectiveness of design decisions
