About the role
Terra’s Creative team is a tight-knit, collaborative group that thrives on solving diverse creative problems for our clients. We are seeking an experienced Senior UX/UI Designer with a strong portfolio, exceptional design skills, and a passion for creating intuitive, engaging, and visually compelling digital experiences.
This role is ideal for a designer with 5+ years of professional experience who is ready to take greater ownership of complex website projects, contribute to strategic design decisions, and help elevate the quality of work across the team.
As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will independently lead the design execution of assigned projects, from initial concepts and wireframes through high-fidelity designs and developer handoff. You'll collaborate closely with creative leadership, project managers, developers, and other designers to deliver thoughtful, user-centered solutions that balance functionality, aesthetics, and client objectives.
You will also play an important role in maintaining high design standards, contributing to client presentations, and providing guidance and constructive feedback to fellow designers, without formal team management responsibilities.
Portfolio required for consideration.
Who You Are
-
You have 5+ years of professional experience in a UX/UI design role, ideally at an agency or in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, with a strong portfolio showcasing intuitive, visually compelling, and user-centered digital experiences.
-
You are proactive, highly organized, and capable of independently managing complex design assignments, balancing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines.
-
You have strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to articulate design decisions and explain your creative rationale to internal stakeholders and clients.
-
You have a proficient level of English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
-
You are highly proficient in Figma, with extensive experience in wireframing, prototyping, high-fidelity UI design, and scalable design systems.
-
You have a strong understanding of UX/UI principles, information architecture, interaction design, and responsive design, paired with a keen eye for typography, layout, visual hierarchy, and detail.
-
You have a solid understanding of web development principles, including HTML5, CSS3, front-end capabilities and limitations, and web accessibility standards (WCAG AA).
-
You are a strategic and creative problem solver who can balance user needs, business objectives, and technical requirements to develop thoughtful design solutions.
-
You thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy giving and receiving constructive feedback, and are comfortable guiding fellow designers while remaining adaptable to other creative disciplines, including graphic and editorial design.
What You'll Do
-
Take ownership of the UX/UI design process for assigned website and digital projects, from initial discovery and concept development through final execution and developer handoff.
-
Collaborate with creative leadership, project managers, strategists, designers, and developers to translate client objectives, project scopes, brand guidelines, and technical requirements into effective design solutions.
-
Conduct design research and develop information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to explore and validate design concepts.
-
Design responsive, intuitive, and visually compelling websites and digital interfaces that balance usability, accessibility, visual storytelling, and business goals.
-
Develop, maintain, and improve UI design systems, component libraries, and design patterns to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across digital experiences.
-
Work closely with developers throughout implementation, providing clear design specifications, supporting handoffs, and resolving UX/UI challenges to ensure design quality and feasibility.
-
Participate in and help guide internal design reviews and client presentations, communicating design concepts, rationale, and recommendations.
-
Guide fellow designers through specific projects or design challenges, providing constructive feedback and helping maintain high standards of design quality and consistency.
-
Proactively coordinate with project leads to manage timelines, communicate progress, identify potential challenges, and ensure deliverables meet project requirements and client expectations.
-
Stay current with emerging UX/UI trends, tools, and technologies, sharing inspiration, best practices, and opportunities to improve design processes and workflows.
