About the role
What you'll own
Product
- Portfolio product strategy and roadmap that serves partners at every level, from Power 4 through the high school base.
- The priorities driving the business right now: mobile app transformation, authenticated user data and engagement, and NIL integrations and experiential hooks.
- The data layer that turns authenticated user data into personalized content — serving each fan the content most relevant to them and giving partners a clear read on what's driving engagement.
- Product collaboration at the earliest stage with partner development, intelligence, and monetization, so what we build reflects what partners and sponsors need.
- Product contribution to the advertising and sponsorship growth engine.
Operations
- This role also oversees Business Operations, which includes a strong, established team across Client Support, PMO, and Product Operations. Oversight includes ensuring that gameday operations are providing our partners with the highest level of streamlined event support throughout the season.
- In addition, Business Operations is responsible for creating a tight loop between what partners request and what we build — the vision to distill school requests and on-the-ground needs into product.
What success looks like in year one
- Roadmap and governance: A single prioritized product roadmap, tied to business outcomes and available engineering capacity.
- Delivery: Improved forecast accuracy, release predictability, quality and accountability.
- Product adoption: Increased adoption and engagement across mobile, authenticated user and personalization capabilities.
- Partner outcomes: Stronger satisfaction (NPS), retention, platform feature adoption and service performance.
- Monetization: improved advertising and sponsorship engine through product enhancements.
- Organization: Clear roles, strong leaders, effective operating cadences and improved team engagement.
Who you are
Required:
- A senior product leader with 15+ years of experience, including senior leadership, in a SaaS or platform business — with a track record of owning both product and the operating functions around it.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining high-traffic, consumer-facing digital products.
- Someone who has driven product delivery in a matrixed environment, influencing engineering and cross-functional teams through credibility.
Preferred:
- Experienced scaling and defending a substantial customer portfolio, ideally in a private-equity-backed or high-growth context.
- Fluent in monetization — advertising, sponsorship, and platform revenue — alongside product delivery.
- A sports, media, or fan-engagement background.
How you lead
- You lead with empathy and clarity—respecting the expertise and hard work of a Product and Operations team that supports 1,600 partners, while connecting their day-to-day work to a shared product vision, partner needs, and strategic priorities
- Direct and accountable, and you extend that to your team — you build a culture where problems get raised early, not managed quietly.
- You empower strong leaders under you rather than working around them.
- You're comfortable being candid about what's broken and then moving people toward the fix.
- You earn trust across a complex set of stakeholders — with the top priority being internal teams. Other stakeholders include Learfield partners, athletic department leaders, and sports property executives — through demonstrated accountability.
