About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer, Ad Signals based in the United States.
Join a technology-driven engineering team building the backend infrastructure that powers mobile app advertising and conversion measurement. In this senior-level role, you will develop reliable, scalable systems that help advertisers accurately measure app installs and in-app events. You will work across mobile measurement partner (MMP) integrations, Apple's SKAdNetwork (SKAN), and App Conversion APIs (App CAPI). Your work will improve signal quality, data consistency, and integration experiences for advertisers and technology partners. Collaborating closely with product, data science, and engineering teams, you will turn complex technical challenges into practical solutions. This is an opportunity to shape critical advertising infrastructure while prioritizing privacy, security, and engineering excellence in a fully remote environment.
Accountabilities
- Lead backend engineering projects: Own projects across MMP integrations, SKAN processing, and App CAPI, from requirements gathering and technical design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing operations.
- Build reliable data processing systems: Develop scalable ingestion and processing services with robust validation, deduplication, error recovery, clear interface contracts, and end-to-end data lineage.
- Improve integration and diagnostic tools: Create tools and troubleshooting capabilities that help advertisers and partners identify, investigate, and resolve conversion signal delivery issues.
- Monitor and optimize signal quality: Analyze delivery metrics, investigate data discrepancies, identify root causes, and prioritize improvements in collaboration with product and data science teams.
- Manage partner integrations: Work with external engineering partners and downstream system consumers to evolve schemas, APIs, and integrations while maintaining compatibility for existing advertisers.
- Protect data and privacy: Incorporate privacy and security requirements into system architecture and maintain appropriate safeguards throughout the data lifecycle.
- Promote engineering excellence: Strengthen testing practices, participate in design reviews, learn from incidents, share technical knowledge, and mentor other engineers.
- Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, operational efficiency, and the overall quality of advertising measurement infrastructure.
- Senior backend engineering experience: Demonstrated experience designing, developing, deploying, and operating scalable production systems.
- Mobile advertising expertise: Hands-on experience with app advertising signals or mobile measurement, including substantial knowledge of MMP integrations, SKAN, or app conversion APIs.
- Strong technical foundation: Proficiency in backend programming, API design, distributed systems, and SQL, with the ability to investigate complex data issues independently.
- Problem-solving abilities: Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify root causes, evaluate trade-offs, and develop effective solutions for challenging technical problems.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Experience working effectively with engineering, product, data science, and external stakeholders to deliver measurable results.
- Communication skills: Ability to explain technical concepts clearly, document decisions, and collaborate with technical and non-technical partners.
- Engineering ownership: A proactive approach to system reliability, testing, operational support, continuous improvement, and technical quality.
- Security awareness: Understanding of privacy and security principles when designing systems that process advertising and conversion data.
- Competitive compensation: Annual base salary ranging from $190,800 to $267,100, depending on experience, skills, location, and the level of the position offered.
- Equity compensation: Eligibility for restricted stock units (RSUs), with additional compensation opportunities depending on the position.
- Remote work: Fully remote opportunity within the United States, with office options in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago for employees who prefer hybrid or onsite work.
- Comprehensive healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with income replacement programs.
- Retirement savings: 401(k) plan with employer matching.
- Flexible time off: Flexible vacation policies and paid volunteer time off.
- Family support: Generous paid parental leave and family planning benefits.
- Health and well-being: Mental health resources, coaching services, and gender-affirming care.
- Lifestyle and professional development: Global benefits supporting workspace needs, caregiving responsibilities, and career growth.
- Inclusive workplace: Commitment to equal employment opportunities and reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process.
