Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
About the Team:
Digital Enterprise Technology (DET) at Salesforce builds the internal engines that power our business. The Machine Learning & Innovation (MLI) team is the applied science and infrastructure strike-force responsible for "Foundry," our unified ML/AI Platform. We operate as "Customer Zero," building the high-velocity, real-time streaming feature platforms and recommendation models that power internal products like the Events App and enterprise-wide personalization.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Staff ML Engineer, you will be the primary technical lead driving the design, training, and deployment of personalization models for high-visibility Customer Zero applications. You will operate at the cutting edge of applied machine learning, focusing on recommendation systems, ranking pipelines, and embedding evaluations. Your work will directly shape the intelligence of the Salesforce Events App and other mission-critical products.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the end-to-end development of recommendation ranking pipelines (e.g., AgendaFlow, Agenda Compass) from raw data processing to production serving.
- Design and implement complex candidate generation models and collaborative near-line filtering systems.
- Conduct rigorous embedding evaluations and feature engineering to continuously improve model precision and recall.
- Partner with platform engineers to optimize model serving latency and ensure sub-100ms response times for real-time personalization.
- Collaborate directly with product management and experimentation teams to define metrics and execute robust A/B tests for algorithmic iterations.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers in applied ML best practices, code quality, and algorithmic troubleshooting.
What You Bring:
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant focus on applied machine learning and data science.
- Deep expertise in building and deploying large-scale recommendation systems, ranking algorithms, and personalization models.
- Strong proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn).
- Experience with streaming feature stores (Zipline, Feast) and online feature engineering.
- Solid understanding of statistical evaluation methods, A/B testing, and model performance metrics (AUC, NDCG, Precision/Recall).
- Ability to translate complex business objectives into measurable, scalable machine learning architectures.
