About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Manager of IT & Operations based in the United States.
The Sr. Manager of IT & Operations will own and continuously improve the internal technology environment of a growing, fully remote organization. This hands-on leadership role combines day-to-day IT operations with strategic planning, systems administration, security, and process automation. You will oversee the corporate technology stack, ensuring systems remain reliable, secure, cost-effective, and easy for employees to use. Working closely with executive leadership and department heads, you will deliver technology improvements that support business growth and operational efficiency. The role also includes strengthening security and compliance practices, particularly around SOC 2 controls and the responsible adoption of AI tools. It is an opportunity to shape scalable IT operations within a privacy-focused, technology-driven environment.

-
Maintain reliable systems and provide effective technical support to keep employees productive.
-
Develop and execute a near-term IT roadmap aligned with organizational growth, identifying gaps, prioritizing improvements, and delivering solutions consistently.
-
Manage the IT and corporate technology budget, oversee vendor relationships and renewals, negotiate contracts, and identify opportunities to reduce costs and eliminate redundant tools.
-
Lead internal IT support for SOC 2 audits by preparing evidence, maintaining controls, and implementing security policies and compliance standards.
-
Shift compliance practices toward proactive risk reduction through stronger controls, documentation, and ongoing security improvements.

-
Establish and enforce governance policies for AI tools, including access management, data privacy boundaries, and mitigation of shadow AI risks in collaboration with Engineering and Legal.
-
Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation covering the corporate technology environment.
-
Deliver internal training on security best practices, security hygiene, and data privacy.
-
Use AI tools to improve documentation, resolve routine support requests, develop automations, and identify recurring support trends and opportunities for improvement.
-
Partner with department leaders and executives to resolve operational bottlenecks and support the needs of a distributed workforce.
-
At least 7 years of experience in IT, systems administration, or technical operations.
-
At least 1–2 years of experience in an IT leadership or management role, ideally within a SaaS company or startup environment.
-
Hands-on experience administering identity and access management (IAM), mobile device management (MDM), SAML/SSO integrations, and Google Workspace.
-
Practical scripting and automation experience, with the ability to work comfortably in command-line environments and administrative consoles.
-
Familiarity with endpoint security tools and cross-platform device management across Mac, Windows, and mobile devices.
-
Experience implementing or supporting security controls and compliance requirements, particularly SOC 2.
-
Strong operational mindset, with the ability to resolve support issues while building systems and processes that prevent recurring problems.
-
Ability to manage competing priorities and measure operational effectiveness through system uptime, resolution times, and employee experience.
-
Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
