Straßenbauer / Rail Road Worker

Stellenbeschreibung 

Ziel der Stelle (Kurzbeschreibung der Aufgaben) 
Führt selbstständig alle Service-, Wartungs- und Reparaturarbeiten an und rund um Eisenbahngleisen aus. 

 

Aufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten: 

• Führt regelmäßige Inspektionen der Eisenbahngleise und aller zugehörigen Komponenten durch und erledigt erforderliche Reparaturen und Wartungsarbeiten gemäß DIN-Normen und festgelegten Verfahren. 

• Verantwortlich für die Einhaltung von Sicherheitsstandards und Vorsichtsmaßnahmen zur Vermeidung von Gefahren und Unfällen im Gleisbereich. 

• Beurteilt und dokumentiert den Zustand der Gleise und aller zugehörigen Komponenten im Rahmen der zugewiesenen Befugnisse. 

• Arbeitet strikt gemäß den Richtlinien der Deutschen Bahn und den Vorschriften der US Army. 

• Unterstützt andere Gewerke bei Bedarf. 

• Befolgt Unternehmensverfahren sowie DIN-, EN-, UVV-, VDE- und ISO-Standards. 

• Führt alle betrieblich erforderlichen Arbeitsaufzeichnungen. 

• Nimmt im Interesse des Unternehmens an Weiterbildungen teil. 

• Arbeitet im Freien, in Werkstätten des Unternehmens sowie an weiteren Einsatzorten des Projekts Kaiserslautern. 

• Führt weitere betriebsnotwendige Aufgaben nach Anweisung des Vorgesetzten aus. 

Ist vertraut im Umgang mit gängigen Materialien, Maschinen, Werkzeugen, Betriebs- und Arbeitsmitteln. 
Zusätzlich zu den in dieser Stellenbeschreibung genannten Tätigkeiten hat jede Mitarbeiterin / jeder Mitarbeiter auf Anweisung des Vorgesetzten weitere Aufgaben auszuführen, die dem Wesen der Stelle entsprechen oder betrieblich notwendig sind. 

 

Erforderliche Qualifikationen: 

• Ausbildung als Gleisbauer oder fünf Jahre Erfahrung im Gleisbau. 

• Gültiger Führerschein der Klasse B 

• Medizinische, geistige und körperliche Eignung zur Ausführung aller Tätigkeiten, insbesondere zum Heben und Tragen schwerer Gegenstände 

• Ausreichende Englisch- und Deutschkenntnisse erforderlich, um Anweisungen zu verstehen und Dokumente ausfüllen zu können. 

 

 

Weitere Verantwortlichkeiten: 

Arbeitsumgebung, Körperliche Anforderungen und Geistige Anforderungen: 
Während der Ausführung der Tätigkeiten in dieser Position ist der/die Mitarbeiter/in häufig verpflichtet zu gehen; die Hände zum Greifen, Führen oder Tasten zu benutzen; mit den Händen und Armen zu greifen; zu sprechen oder zu hören sowie zu riechen oder zu schmecken. 
Erforderlich sind außerdem das Arbeiten auf Leitern, Gerüsten und Plattformen, Stehen, Bücken und Arbeiten in engen Bereichen; das Heben und Tragen von Werkzeugen und Ausrüstung, die gelegentlich mehr als 40 Pfund (ca. 18 kg) wiegen können. 
Zu den spezifischen Sehanforderungen gehören Nahsicht, Fernsicht, Farbsehen, peripheres Sehen sowie die Fähigkeit, den Fokus anzupassen. 
Während der Ausführung der Tätigkeiten ist der/die Mitarbeiter/in häufig beweglichen mechanischen Teilen ausgesetzt und gelegentlich nassen und/oder feuchten Bedingungen; großen Höhen; Dämpfen oder Partikeln in der Luft; giftigen oder ätzenden Chemikalien; Außenwetterbedingungen; extremer Kälte; extremer Hitze; sowie dem Risiko elektrischer Schläge. Der Geräuschpegel in der Arbeitsumgebung ist in der Regel moderat.

Job Description 

Position purpose (brief description of duties) 

Independently performs all servicing, maintenance and repair work on and around 

railroad tracks. 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

· Regularly inspects railroad tracks and all associated components and performs 

required repairs and maintenance in accordance with DIN standards and established procedures. 

· Responsible for compliance with safety standards and precautions to 

prevent hazards and accidents in the track area. 

· Assesses and documents, within assigned authority, the condition of the track and all associated components. 

· Works strictly in accordance with Deutsche Bahn guidelines and U.S. Army regulations. 

· Assists other trades with their work as needed 

· Follows company procedures and DIN, EN, UVV, VDE and ISO standards 

· Maintains all operationally required work records 

· Participates in further training in the company's interest 

· Works outdoors, in company workshops and at other Kaiserslautern Project work locations 

· Performs other operationally necessary duties as directed by the supervisor 

Familiar with commonly used materials, machinery, tools, operating equipment and work equipment 

In addition to the duties listed in this job description, each employee must, as directed by the supervisor, perform 

other duties that are inherent to the position or operationally necessary. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

• Training as a railroad track worker or five years of experience in track construction. 

• A valid Class B driver's license is required 

• Must be medically, mentally and physically fit to perform all duties, particularly lifting and carrying heavy 

• objects. 

• Sufficient English and German skills are required to understand instructions and complete 

• documents.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.  Requires climbing on ladders, scaffolding, and platforms standing, bending, and working in cramped areas; lifting and carrying tools and equipment which occasionally may weigh over 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
