About the role
SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION:
St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire, is a completely residential, co-educational secondary school affiliated with the Episcopal Church and welcoming to people of all faiths. St. Paul’s School seeks innovative, experienced educators who are eager to participate in the academic, athletic, and co-curricular life of this dynamic residential community in our dedication to the pursuit of excellence in character and scholarship for our students.
DESCRIPTION:
St. Paul’s School announces a search for the position of Substitute French Teacher. The Language Department requires students to not only master the mechanics of another language but also to immerse themselves in the arts, traditions, and customs of those who speak it. Under the direction of the faculty – and aided by the multimedia Language Center – students come to understand different ways of thinking and living. The result is a consciousness that is truly global. Extensive offerings are provided in five modern languages – Chinese, French, German, and Spanish – and in Latin and Greek, taught for beginners through a multitude of courses for advanced students.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibility will be to teach three or four classes of introductory and more advanced levels of French at the secondary level. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment working with other French teachers, with the faculty of the languages department, and with the broader faculty in advancing the mission of the School and the commitment to teaching and learning in a holistic educational environment. Because this is not a full-time faculty position, the candidate will undertake classroom teaching responsibilities only.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Masters Degree (or higher) preferred in French
Experience: Candidates must have strong fluency in the French language, an understanding of French culture, and classroom experience teaching French.
SALARY: Competitive, based on experience.
TO APPLY: Candidates should submit a cover letter and resume with their online application.
