About the role
Liverpool Girls High School is a comprehensive secondary school located in South West Sydney, serving a culturally and linguistically diverse community. In 2025, the school had an enrolment of 704 students, with approximately 2% identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and approximately 91% coming from a language background other than English (LBOTE). With more than 50 languages represented across the school community, including students from refugee backgrounds, the school celebrates cultural diversity and is committed to providing an inclusive, equitable and supportive learning environment that meets the needs of all students.
The school is currently transitioning towards the establishment of a new co-educational Liverpool High School with Liverpool Boys High School, planned to open in 2028. This amalgamation will bring together the strengths, expertise and educational practices of both school communities, creating opportunities for greater collaboration, inclusivity and improved student learning outcomes.
As part of this transition, the existing support units will combine to establish a unified Diverse Learning Unit, providing a supportive, inclusive and engaging learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. The combined unit will focus on personalised learning experiences, differentiated teaching practices and individualised support that engage, empower and enable students to thrive and achieve their potential.
High-quality teaching and learning will be supported through collaborative planning, whole-school and targeted professional learning, and a shared commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion and educational excellence. A strong emphasis will be placed on building positive relationships, ensuring continuity of learning and supporting successful transitions for students, staff and families. Through innovative and authentic learning experiences, the new school and its combined Diverse Learning Unit will strive to equip students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve meaningful outcomes and successfully transition into life beyond school.
