About the role
The Opportunity
This isn't a traditional product management role. We're looking for a builder: a Technical Product Manager who spends real time with customers, uses AI to turn their problems into working prototypes, and brings those prototypes back to the team as proven, ready-to-build ideas.
You'll set the product direction for TouchPoint and partner closely with the program managers who lead our two development teams. You'll own the what and why: roadmap, priorities, and validated concepts. Our program managers own the how and when: backlogs and delivery. Together, you'll shorten the distance between a customer's problem and a shipped solution.
What You'll Do
Work in the field with customers
- Meet regularly with homebuilders and vendors, including visits to customer sites as needed (10-25%), to understand their workflows, frustrations, and goals firsthand and test prototypes in person
- Act as a forward deployed product engineer: embed with key customers, explore problems in their real-world context, and test solutions with them directly
- Bring the voice of the customer back to the team with evidence, not assumptions
Prototype with AI
- Use AI coding and design tools every day to rapidly build feature and product prototypes
- Turn customer conversations into clickable, working proofs of concept in days, not months
- Validate prototypes with customers before any development time is committed
Turn prototypes into development work
- Present prototype outcomes to program managers and team leads, with the customer problem, the proposed solution, and what was learned
- Work with program managers to translate validated concepts into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
- Guide backlog priorities for both teams so they reflect the roadmap and the strongest customer evidence
Set the product direction
- Own and communicate the TouchPoint roadmap, balancing core improvements with disruptive new features
- Make trade-off decisions based on customer value, effort, and strategy
- Track adoption, usage, and retention metrics to measure impact
Lead AI adoption on the team
- Model how AI can speed up discovery, requirements, and prototyping
- Share tools, techniques, and lessons learned with the wider product group
Support delivery and alignment
- Take part in sprint planning, reviews, and release planning led by the program managers
- Clarify requirements, answer product questions, and help remove roadblocks
- Keep both teams aligned so core and disruptive work fit together
- Keep leadership, sales, and customer success informed on progress and priorities
What You Bring
Required
- 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in B2B SaaS
- A technical background (development, QA, solutions engineering, or similar), with comfort writing and reading code
- Hands-on, day-to-day experience using AI tools (such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to build prototypes or working software
- Experience working directly with customers in discovery, onboarding, or solution-design roles
- Strong ability to influence priorities across multiple teams by working through program or project managers
- Experience with Agile/Scrum and tools such as [Azure DevOps / Jira]
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Nice to Have
- Forward deployed engineer, solutions engineer, or customer-facing developer experience
- Background in construction, homebuilding, or supply chain software
- Experience with vendor, partner, or marketplace platforms
- Familiarity with Azure or cloud-hosted applications
- Comfort with SQL or Power BI for analyzing product usage
- Experience mentoring teams with mixed seniority
How to Apply
Please include a portfolio piece with your application. Show us something you've built or prototyped using AI. A link, a short demo video, screenshots, or a brief write-up is perfect. Tell us:
- What problem you were solving
- Which AI tools you used
- What you learned or what happened next
Applications that include a portfolio piece will be prioritized.
