Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Technician / Civil Draftsman with proven experience in infrastructure projects, particularly sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, and road networks. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, inspectors, and project teams to deliver accurate and coordinated engineering drawings throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Prepare and revise technical drawings, layouts, and as-built documentation using the latest versions of MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Interpret design inputs from engineers and accurately translate them into detailed and coordinated construction drawings.

  • Track and verify existing sewerage, stormwater, and irrigation networks in Dubai using as-built records from Drainage (DS), Irrigation (IRR), and Roads projects.
  • Conduct site surveys and coordinate with inspectors to verify construction progress and collect accurate data for as-built documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with engineers, inspectors, and document control teams to ensure timely submission and approval of drawings.
  • Update and prepare redline markups, section details, pipeline profiles, and shaft layouts based on field data.
  • Maintain a well-organized archive and digital record system for all project drawings and revisions.
  • Review contractors’ as-built and shop drawing submissions to verify compliance with actual site conditions.
  • Provide technical drafting support during construction to ensure drawings reflect approved changes and actual site execution.
  • Support the preparation of utility coordination drawings, ensuring accuracy across multiple services and avoiding conflicts.
  • Ensure all drawing deliverables meet AECOM and authority CAD standards, including layering, scaling, and title block consistency.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in civil infrastructure drafting and design.
  • Proficient in the latest versions of MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Strong experience in sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, and roads infrastructure projects.
  • Good knowledge of Dubai Municipality (DM), RTA, and DEWA standards and requirements.
  • Experience in preparing as-built drawings, redline markups, pipeline profiles, utility layouts, and construction details.
  • Ability to interpret engineering designs and convert them into detailed technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with site survey processes and coordination with construction and inspection teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple drawing packages simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary project teams.
