Temporary Accountant – Lawrence, MA

Location: Lawrence, MA (onsite, 5 days a week)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Duration: Temporary, starting ASAP through January 1
Pay: $25–$30 per hour

About the Role

A fast-moving, owner-operated company in Lawrence, MA is looking for a temporary Accountant to help the accounting team through a backlog during a leadership transition. You’ll support the Director of Accounting and, once they’re onboarded, the new Accounting Manager. This is a hands-on role for someone who can get up to speed quickly and be productive right away.

What You’ll Do

• Process accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP)
• Prepare journal entries
• Complete bank reconciliations
• Handle payroll accruals
• Provide GAAP-based accounting support
• Build Excel reports, including pivot tables and graphs
• Help the Director of Accounting work through the backlog, then support the new Accounting Manager

What You Bring

• Accounting experience at the AR/AP through Jr. Analyst level
• GAAP experience
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, bank reconciliations and payroll accruals
• Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables and graphs)
• Availability to start immediately
• Ability to work onsite in Lawrence 5 days a week

Nice to have: Restaurant365 (R365) experience
