About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP Global Demand & Delivery based in Spain.
This is a senior global planning leadership opportunity within a fast-growing international defense technology environment. The role is responsible for connecting commercial demand with production capacity across a growing, multi-site manufacturing network in Europe and the United States. You will establish a reliable view of future bookings and translate evolving sales forecasts into actionable production plans. Working closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, and site leadership, you will help ensure that resources, materials, and manufacturing schedules are aligned with business priorities. You will also identify capacity constraints, improve coordination between facilities, and support strategic decisions as the production footprint expands. This is an opportunity to build a global Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) capability from the ground up in a dynamic, mission-driven industry.
Accountabilities
-
Own and maintain the global bookings and demand forecast on a regular cadence, initially weekly, covering upcoming months and quarterly planning horizons.
-
Translate commercial forecasts into detailed demand projections by platform, product type, and configuration, updating plans as opportunities evolve or change.
-
Partner with Sales to assess pipeline assumptions and validate expected demand, ensuring alignment with Finance and senior leadership around a shared forecast.
-
Match projected demand against available production capacity across international manufacturing sites.
-
Identify upcoming orders and translate them into early production requirements, coordinating materials, labor, scheduling, and site allocation ahead of purchase orders.
-
Evaluate capacity gaps, production bottlenecks, and resource constraints across the network, recommending how to distribute or transfer work between facilities.
-
Support strategic capacity planning by identifying when and where additional manufacturing capabilities may be required as the U.S. footprint expands.
-
Build and implement a scalable S&OP framework, including recurring demand and capacity reviews, planning tools, and performance dashboards.
-
Establish and monitor key planning metrics, including forecast accuracy, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery.
-
Coordinate cross-functional planning activities across sites, ensuring clear communication and timely operational decisions.
-
Proven experience in demand planning, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), or production planning within a hardware, industrial, or manufacturing organization.
-
Experience supporting fast-growing businesses with multiple production facilities or geographically distributed operations.
-
Strong understanding of manufacturing capacity planning, production scheduling, resource allocation, and supply-demand alignment.
-
Ability to translate commercial sales pipelines into detailed, actionable demand forecasts and production plans.
-
Strong analytical capabilities, including experience with forecasting models, planning tools, data analysis, and performance reporting.
-
Demonstrated ability to identify operational constraints early and turn uncertain forecasts into clear recommendations and decisions.
-
Experience collaborating across Sales, Finance, Operations, and manufacturing teams.
-
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions, locations, and time zones.
-
A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to establish planning processes and systems from the ground up.
-
Experience in high-growth industries such as automotive, aerospace, defense, robotics, or related hardware sectors is a strong advantage.
-
Willingness and ability to travel between international operational sites as needed.
-
Full-time employment.
-
Remote working arrangement within Europe, with Germany included in the stated regional location.
-
Opportunity to shape global demand and production planning across an expanding international manufacturing network.
-
Exposure to senior leadership and strategic operational decisions in a rapidly growing defense technology environment.
-
International collaboration across teams and facilities in Europe and the United States.
