Duties and responsibilities related to the Waiter/ess role

• To be fully aware of and adhere to Lady Abercorn’s Cafe Bar standards at all times.
• To have full knowledge of food and drink menus.
• Keeping the bar stocked by replacing empty bottles and kegs of beer
• To be responsible for any float issued to you and ensure it is returned counted and correct to the cashier at the end of your shift.
• To treat all members of our team with a professional and friendly manner.
• To follow set sequence of service and service standards, upselling and making food and drink recommendations where appropriate.
• To take all orders from guests in a professional manner
• To follow set cleaning, opening and closing standards as specified.
• To have full knowledge of all Andaz Hotel and to promote it in a positive manner to all guests.
• To report all guest complaints and concerns to the floor manager on duty immediately and follow up where required.
• To ensure proper care of furniture and equipment, reporting any breakages or maintenance requirements to the management.
• To have full working knowledge of the micros ordering system.
• To take responsibility for the presentation and payment of a guest check.
• To work as a team member and assist in building an efficient team by taking an active interest in our department. This includes communicating effectively between other waiters, runners and management.
• To have full knowledge of opening and closing times, to follow correct timings with regard to last orders for alcohol. (To ensure last food orders are taken in good time).

About you

Previous experience in a waiter, food and beverage, or hospitality role within a premium hotel or restaurant environment is preferred. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. You are well organised, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a positive and professional attitude under pressure. Knowledge of food and beverage service standards is an advantage, and you are confident using point-of-sale systems and standard computer applications. Above all, you are a team player who takes pride in providing warm, attentive, and personalised service to every guest.
