Workday Administrator

The Administrator, Workday is the primary administrator and technical steward of Nightingale's Workday platform, which we're implementing as our HRIS and ERP. You'll support the implementation and then own the platform after go-live. You'll work alongside our other platform administrators and partner with People, Finance, and IT Functions to configure, secure, and improve Workday. Your work gives Collaborators a stable, well-governed system and supports our Purpose: Better World through Better Humanity and Better Health.

Key Responsibilities

1. Implementation & Transition to Operations

• Partner with the implementation partner, project team, and Function leads on design, configuration, testing, data conversion, and cutover for HRIS and Financials.

• Document configuration decisions, build standards, and runbooks.

• Own the platform through hypercare and move it into steady-state operations.

2. Platform Administration (HRIS and Financials, equally)

• HRIS: Maintain HCM, organizations, supervisory hierarchies, payroll and benefits configuration, and talent processes.

• Financials: Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, procurement, budgets, and financial reporting structures.

• Configure and maintain business processes, security groups, domains, and calendars.

• Manage sandbox refreshes, release management, and change promotion. Review semi-annual Workday releases, test impacted features, and communicate changes.

3. Security, Access & Compliance

• Administer role-based security and access provisioning using least-privilege and segregation-of-duties principles.

• Run periodic access reviews and support audit requests.

• Protect the integrity and privacy of sensitive Collaborator and financial data.

4. Integrations, Reporting & Automation

• Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.

• Monitor and support integrations with other enterprise systems (identity, payroll, benefits, banking, CRM, and others), and resolve failures.

• Find opportunities to automate manual work and reduce cycle time.

5. Support & Service Delivery

• Serve as the escalation point for Workday incidents and requests, following ITSM/ITIL-aligned practices.

• Resolve tickets within agreed service levels and find root causes of recurring issues.

• Train Collaborators and Function partners, and maintain knowledge articles.

6. Governance & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain change control, testing protocols, and data governance standards.

• Partner with People and Finance leaders on roadmaps, prioritization, and adoption of new capabilities.

• Track platform health metrics and report on them transparently.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience administering or supporting enterprise business systems, such as an HRIS, ERP, or financial platform.

• Hands-on experience with business process configuration, security administration, and reporting.

• Experience with integrations, data loads, and data validation.

• Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working in ITSM/ITIL-aligned environments.

• Clear communication with technical and non-technical partners.

Preferred

• Direct Workday experience and certification(s) in HCM, Financials, Security, Reporting, or Integrations.

• Experience on a Workday implementation or an ERP/HRIS migration.

• Familiarity with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, or other integration tooling.

• Experience in higher education, healthcare, or another regulated environment.

• Scripting or automation skills, and familiarity with AI-enabled tools for workflow improvement.
