About the role
Description
At R & R Bronec Grain & Cattle, we’re a family-owned grain and cattle operation in Montana’s Golden Triangle. We’ve doubled in size over the last few years, and we’re building the team and systems to support our next stage of growth.
Join Our Team!
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Administrative Assistant, Bookkeeping & Systems to take day-to-day QuickBooks and data entry off our CEO’s plate and help build smarter systems for tracking receipts, inventory, and employee records. If you’re organized, comfortable with numbers, and excited about finding better ways to work, this opportunity is for you!
The Team
R & R Bronec Grain & Cattle is a family operation built on preparation, hard work, and taking care of our people. We plan our work in weekly team meetings, invest in training, and believe good systems free everyone up to do their best work.
Why You’ll Love This Role
As the Administrative Assistant, Bookkeeping & Systems, you’ll:
• Own day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks, coding transactions, entering bills and deposits, and reconciling supplier invoices and statements.
• Design and build simple, technology-driven systems for capturing receipts, tracking farm inventory, and managing employee HR records.
• Recommend and roll out apps, integrations, and automations that cut manual data entry and save management time.
• Document Standard Operating Procedures in Trello and help the team adopt new tools and processes.
• Grow with the business: the role can start part-time and build to full-time, with room to take on more financial responsibility over time.
What We’re Looking For
• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, information systems, or a related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping, data entry, or administrative experience, with a working knowledge of general accounting.
• Comfort with technology and a track record of learning new software quickly; experience setting up or improving systems or workflows is a plus.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (especially Excel); familiarity with Trello, John Deere Operations Center, or cloud-based receipt and HR tools is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, a valid driver’s license, and an interest in agriculture (farm experience not required).
Why You’ll Love Working at R & R Bronec:
We believe in taking care of our team, offering benefits designed to help you thrive:
• Flexibility: Work from our Fort Benton, MT office or remotely, on a schedule that can start at 2–3 days per week (16–24 hours) and grow to full-time.
• Health Coverage: Employer-sponsored health insurance for eligible employees, planned to begin in 2027.
• Room to Grow: A role designed to expand as the operation grows, with a real hand in shaping how the business runs.
• Invest in Your Future: Support for training and continuing education.
Compensation That Rewards Your Expertise
At R & R Bronec, we recognize and value the skills and experience you bring to the table. Our compensation is designed to be both fair and competitive, reflecting the qualifications, education, and expertise needed for success in this role.
Estimated Pay Range: $25 – $35 per hour
*Your final offer will be tailored to your unique background, including your qualifications, certifications, experience, and training.
