About the role
Customer Service Representative
Keep our customers' parts moving: be the link between automotive customers and our plants, and make sure every release ships on time.
Minth North America is looking for a Customer Service Representative to join a growing automotive company. You will support our customers by verifying order information, managing releases and shipments, and planning production schedules so customers get the right parts at the right time while we keep inventory lean.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Pull in customer releases daily/weekly and compare them to prior releases, confirming requirements stay within the 15% maximum allowed and reporting any variances.
- Verify and adjust order information weekly, and analyze it for accuracy.
- Make the arrangements needed so customers receive parts per release requirements, and communicate release changes to the right people.
- Update SMART, DDL and any other customer-mandated portals, and make sure ASNs are transmitted and received promptly, resolving any issues.
- Take part in daily meetings on past-due status, customer requirements and timing.
- Develop the master production plan and schedule to meet customer demand with minimum effective inventory, setting the sequence and lead time of operations to meet shipping dates.
- Plan and schedule workflow for each department, expedite operations that delay schedules, and adjust schedules for unforeseen conditions.
- Recommend production shutdowns and overtime based on inventory levels, customer schedules and equipment availability.
- Review schedules daily to remove unneeded quantities, such as repaired items returning to the process or schedules not completed because of changeovers.
- Start or carry out corrective action as needed to keep service and customer satisfaction high, and coordinate difficult or unusual situations.
- Prepare customer service summary and production reports.
- Maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 2+ years of progressive customer service or direct marketing experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work different hours and shifts as needed.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (A PLUS)
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- Familiarity with customer portals and ASN/EDI processes.
MINIMUM EDUCATION / FIELD OF STUDY
- High school diploma or equivalent.
KEY TO BEING SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Works well under pressure and keeps a calm head when priorities shift.
- Can juggle many projects at one time.
- An excellent sense of priorities.
- Flexible and able to work different hours and shifts as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Primarily office-based, with extended periods of sitting and frequent computer use.
- Shift, weekend and overtime work may be required based on customer and production needs.
- Occasional visits to the manufacturing floor may require safety glasses, hearing protection and safety footwear.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
