About the role
R&D Engineer II will serve as an expert in the application of liquid coatings and will work in support of both solvent and waterborne technologies. This role requires close collaboration with our formulating lab, Marketing, Sales, and end customers to advance technologies and meet product performance and warranty expectations.
-Communicating effectively and promptly with managers, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders. This includes delivering formal and informal presentations as needed.
-Hands-on development: applying, curing, and testing of new coating products.
-Analyzing data to identify trends, resolve customer issues, and assess information for project advancement.
-Leading technically complex projects or multiple simpler projects with minimal supervisor input.
-Establishing timelines and identifying resource needs to support project work.
- Apply specialized knowledge in liquid application equipment, application theory, liquid coating chemistry, pretreatment, and substrates to assist development of superior performance coatings and perform root cause analysis when problems arise.
